On December 9, 2018, the Build Your Future Project carried out its event dedicated to “Responsibility” at the Neftchiler campus of Khazar University.
Turan Jafarova, Director of the International Affairs Office, opened the event, welcomed project participants and guests, and delivered a presentation about Khazar University. Three project alumni (Azer Aliyev, 3rd year student in Chemical Engineering; Gunel Alasgarli, 2nd year student in Electronics, Telecommunication, and Radio Engineering; Ziya Mammadov, 2nd year student in Computer Engineering) who are currently studying at Khazar University delivered short presentations about academic and student life at Khazar University, shared tips on preparation for the university entrance examination.
The event continued with a speech by Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, the Founder of Khazar University, Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees. Following his speech, manager of the project Mr. Bahruz Hidayatzade presented Professor Isakhanli a diploma and expressed his gratitude for continuous support the University provides the project. It should be mentioned that in the current academic year of 2018-2019 (as was the case in the previous academic year), Khazar University became the top selected HEI among alumni of the project – 19 project alumni were admitted to various programs offered by Khazar University.
The event continued with presentations and workshops by Khaqani Safarov, a leading HR Specialist, Javid Imamoglu, co-founder of the “Success Academy,” and Gunel Farajli, Head of Cleantech & Climate Change/Sustainability Services in Azerbaijan and Georgia from EY Azerbaijan.
Currently in its 5th year, Build Your Future project is carried our within the CSR policy of several local and foreign companies and with support of individual sponsors. The project is supported by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan and Baku city Education Department and covers 5 districts of Baku (Binagadi, Garadagh, Khatai, Sabunchu, Surakhani) and 5 regions (Agdash, Kurdemir, Salyan, Ujar, Yevlakh). The main goal of the project is to contribute to sustainable development of Azerbaijani youth by enabling their access to higher education.
