On August 22, 2018, moderator.az website released an interview with Elchin Efendi, an education expert, entitled “The biggest mistake of those applying for vacant places is fear of choosing "private" universities”. The education expert noted that due to the closure of several private universities in recent years, parents have lost their trust in private universities, saying that ‘their children might be left out’. Nevertheless, he pointed to Khazar University as saying: “It is connected with quality education at Khazar University. Moreover, Khazar University is the only Azerbaijani university in the rankings of world universities.”
