According to the Order, dated May 31, 2018, by Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Mammadov has been appointed as Rector of the newly founded Azerbaijan Institute of Theology.

J.Mammadov studied in Dawat and Irshad Institute of Syria in 1991-1994. He also got a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and Religious studies from Libyan Arab Socialist People's Jamahiriya University in 1994-1998. J.Mammadov studied at Khazar University in 2000-2002 for a Master’s degree.

J.Mammadov has a PhD degree in Theology and works as an instructor at Azerbaijan University of Languages. He is the author of one book and twenty scientific articles.

He worked in various departments at State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2001-2014. He also worked as a senior advisor at the Department of International Relations, Multiculturalism and Religious Affairs of the Presidential Administration.
