A scientific-practical seminar on “Impact of toxic pollutants on the environment” was held on February 13, 2018, on the initiative of the Department of Geography and the Environment of Khazar University.
University administration and staff of the department; students of Khazar University and Baku State University; Pyotr Sharov, a representative of Blacksmith Institute, the USA; Eduardo Limbert, a monitoring expert of European Union; Khoshgadam Alasgarova, an expert on pesticide at the Ministry of Agriculture; Ogtay Jafarov, Adil Zeynalov and Zaki Hasanov - representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources; Seadet Abbaszadeh, a representative of the Ministry of Health; Suleyman Azizov, Farhad Davudov, Abulfas Allahverdiyev, Nazim Mammadov, Eldar Zeynalov and Nizami Ismayilov - representatives of the Centre for Ecology of SOCAR; Sevda Zeynalova, Head instructor of Baku Higher Oil School; Jahangir Mammadzade, an expert on NGO of “Tamiz Shahar” OJSC; Elvin Aliyev, a geomatics expert of Caspian Geomatics company; Sadig Seyidzade, an ecology expert of Caspian Geomatics; Javidan Aliyev, a lecturer of Lankaran State University; Rovshan Karimov, a leading researcher, researchers - Anar Abutalibov, Elvin Amrahov, Nijat Imamverdiyev and Emil Jabrayilov, representatives of the Institute of Soil Science and Geography of ANAS, and Robert Jecklin, a Fulbright fellow, participated in the seminar.
Irada Khalilova, vice-rector for research of Khazar University, Rovshan Abbasov, Head of the Department of Geography and the Environment, Pyotr Sharov, Eduardo Limbert, Khoshgadam Alasgarova, Ogtay Jafarov, Adil Zeynalov, Zaki Hasanzade and Robert Jecklin delivered speeches talking about various aspects of the topic.
At the end of the event, Rovshan Abbasov gave an interview to “Space” TV that made a TV reportage on the seminar.
