GAXA – Georgian Azerbaijanis’ news agency took an interview from the founder of Khazar University, Chair of its Board of Directors and Trustees, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli participating in the ceremonial meetings dedicated to 100^th Anniversary of Tbilisi State University.

The Founder of Khazar University of Azerbaijan, Chair of its Board of Directors and Trustees, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli presented a Guba carpet on the occasion of Ivane Javakhishli Tbilisi State University’s 100^th Anniversary. According to GAXA’s correspondent in Tbilisi, within the framework of events on TSU’s 100^th year anniversary, H. Isakhanli met with the president of Georgia, Georgi Margvelashvili, as well as would be meeting with Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and the Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze. According to him, the President expressed warm words on behalf of Khazar University.

In an interview to GAXA, Prof. Isakhanli told that today he had met with the Georgian Minister for Science and Education Mikhail Chkhenkeli and expressed his views on the Georgian Azerbaijanis’ current problems in education and assured that he would do his utmost to solve them: “at the meeting with the Minister I asked him to consider the educational problems of Georgian Azerbaijanis. I assured that as Khazar University, we can help with whatever is needed. For instance, I suggested to organize training courses to teachers and school directors. I informed the minister about Training Center operating under Ministry of Education in Azerbaijan. He really appreciated my suggestion and we decided to cooperate further”, mentioned H.Isakhanli.

H. Isakhanli said that today the Azerbaijani delegation participated in the 100^th anniversary of TSU and he was given a speech at the official opening of the Jubilee: “I am very pleased to be here at TSU solemn Jubilee. The delegation from Azerbaijan also came to the Jubilee. Representatives of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Baku State University and Khazar University, scientists and professors were invited. Pro-rector for Academic Affairs of Baku State University, Irada Aliyeva, Head of its International Department, Gulheyran Rahimova and me as Khazar University representative attend the University’s 100^th Jubilee. Speaking at the official opening of the Jubilee, I talked about Azerbaijan-Georgia friendly relationships, the Azerbaijanis living in the country and the importance of our relations, as well as the culture and science of Georgia. I have not come for the Jubilee without a present. I have exclusively weaved a carpet similar to the Guba carpet exhibited in the Louvre museum and brought it to the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University’s 100^th Anniversary. On the carpet, it’s written in English: “On the occasion of 100^th anniversary of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Baku. Azerbaijan. A present from Khazar University”. I presented the carpet to the Rector of the University, which caused the applause of the Jubilee participants”, H.Isakhanli said.

H. Isakhanli commented on the GAXA.ge site operating in Georgia: “I was very glad and even a little surprised to hear that a news agency of Georgian Azerbaijanis was created (GAXA) in Georgia. This world is based on information. If you have good information, you can achieve success, if not, we are like blind, do not see the way to go. The abundance of information is very important. Therefore, you need to study the experience of other news agencies and work hard to improve the agency you have founded”, Prof. Isakhanli underlined.
