Political Science and International Relations Department Coordinator at Conference in Rome

On January 24, 2018, Elmar Mustafayev, Coordinator of Political Science and International Relations Department, participated in an academic conference entitled “Research on Azerbaijan in Italy: themes and prospects”. The event was organized by Roma Sapienza Foundation and the Communications and Social Researches Department of the same university. Conference participants included Eugenio Gaudio, Rector of Sapienza University, Mammad Ahmadzada, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Italy, Antonello Biagini, Chairman of Roma Sapienza Foundation, academicians and researchers from various universities and institutions, and PhD candidates. The speeches were related to the legal aspects of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, the history and energy policy of Azerbaijan, its relations with Turkey, Iran, Russia, other countries of the region, the United States and EU, public diplomacy, social welfare in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani literature, the books about Azerbaijan published in Italy.

At the conference, Elmar Mustafayev delivered a presentation entitled “Europeanization beyond the EU: the case of Azerbaijan” in which he spoke about the opportunities and contradictions of Europeanization process in Azerbaijan.
