Farid GULIYEV is the Former Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy at Khazar University. Previously, he served as a Visiting Lecturer at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek and as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at ADA University in Baku (2017-2019). Elmar Mustafayev, PhD, is Former Head of department, a head of the Accreditation and Licensing Unit at the Education Quality
Assurance Agency (TKTA). Moreover, he is an adjunct instructor of Political Science and
Philosophy Department at Khazar University. Prior to his career at the TKTA, Elmar Mustafayev
served as a chair of the Political Science and Philosophy Department at Khazar University. In
2019, Elmar Mustafayev received the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module Grant for the project
entitled "Communicating the European Union to the Students through the Simulation Games".

Prof. Dr. Vasila HAJIYEVA holds Ph.D. on Politics from Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as Doctor of Sciences on Politics from Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Prof. Hajiyeva was Visiting Scholar at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian studies at Harvard University and at Karl-Franzens Universitat Graz in Austria. She is an author of two monographs and 50 articles.

Vasif HUSEYNOV, PhD is a senior advisor at the Center of Analysis of International Relations in Baku and a lecturer at Khazar University’s Department of Political Science and Philosophy. His research interests focus on EU-Azerbaijan relations, foreign policy analysis, transnational terrorism, and the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.

Baba BAYRAMLI 

My current position is the lecturer at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Khazar University and the director of the European Union Studies Centre at Khazar University which was established as the result of realization of Tempus project entitled “Curriculum Development and Capacity Building in the Field of EU Studies”. I was the coordinator of this project which involved 4 European and 6 Azerbaijani universities.

In 2006-2015 I directed the Institute of Politics at Khazar University, and in 2005-2015 was the coordinator of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Khazar University.

In 2004-2005 as visiting scholar/JFDP Fellow had practice at Graduate School of International Studies of the University of Denver (the USA).

I graduated from the faculty of History of Baku State University in 1984. Now I am Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of Khazar University and my research focuses on the role of integration into European institutions and the regional cooperation policy in ensuring security in the South Caucasus.

Elsevar MAMMADOV is a lecturer on Political Psychology and Research Methods in Political Science. His main research lies in the opportunities for civil society and regional challenges against the background of eastern partnership, EU External Governance, and the regional integration policies in South Caucasus. He holds an MA degree in Peace and Security Policy Studies in Hamburg, Germany. Elsevar was a coordinator for the research project on comparative analysis of EU’s strategic instruments implemented in the South Caucasus and Central Asia, conducted by the Institute of International Politics of Darmstadt University (Germany).

Zibar HUSEYNOVA lectures on International Political Economy at the Department of Political Sciences and Philosophy of Khazar University. She holds an MA degree in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe (Bruges) and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Baku State University. Her research interests include the European Union’s Foreign and Security Policy, the European Neighborhood Policy and the European Union's Energy Policy.

Jeyran MAMMADLI is a lecturer on International Political Economy, Economy of European Countries at the undergraduate level. She holds her BA degree in International Economic Relations from Azerbaijan State University of Economics and MA degree in International Project Management from Strasbourg University as well as in European Economic Integration and Business from the College of Europe. Her primary areas of interest include Azerbaijan’s WTO accession, European Neighborhood Policy as well as Human Capital and Education. Currently, she is a leading advisor in the Project Monitoring Unit of the Ministry of Education.

Aygul ISMAYILOVA received her BA in International Relations from Baku State University. Mrs. Ismayilova has been awarded her MA degree from ADA University. Currently, she is PhD candidate at Khazar University and her research focuses on the just war theory and application of this theory on a case study, particularly the Nagorno-Karabakh war from different perspectives and analyzes that how this war fits into this tradition. She is teaching courses on History of Europe, Conflict Studies and Just War in Political Theory and Practice at the undergraduate and graduate level. Currently, she is working at the Scientific and Cultural Center of the Administration of State Historical-Architectural Reserve.

Gunay MUKHTAROVA is a lecturer in Comparative Politics at the undergraduate level and Globalization process in Contemporary IR at the postgraduate level. She received her MA in International Relations and Diplomacy with the State Scholarship on Education of Azerbaijani Youth Abroad in the Years 2007-2015. In Geneva, she was also an alumni of the Sustainable Development Goals program organized by the UN. She was nominated as a Schuman scholar at the European Parliament in Brussels. In 2015, she worked at the UN Geneva headquarter as a program manager. Currently, she works as a chief advisor at the Azerbaijan Republic State Examination Center. Her research focuses on international trade relations and innovation-based economy.

Guljan KULAKHMET is a Public Relations Assistant at the Board of Directors and Trustees, Khazar University. She lectures on Introduction to Political Science at the undergraduate level. She has obtained her MA degree in Public Policy from the University of Bristol (UK) and BA degree in Regional Studies from the Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan). Her research focuses on International Relations, Political Science and Education Policy.

Beyrak HAJIYEV is an adjunct lecturer of Theories of European Integration in the Department of Political Science & Philosophy at Khazar University. Hajiyev also contributes to the Baku-based think tank - Topchubashov Center. His research interests include the EU’s Neighborhood Policy and Eastern Partnership program, and their repercussions of de/re-territorialization. He is also interested in the multi-dimensional globalization processes and regimes of territorialization.
