Professional Development Program for English Language Educators

The Department of English Language and Literature will host a “Teacher Professional Development” session on February 5, 2026, aimed at enhancing modern teaching skills and classroom effectiveness. The session will be conducted by Michael Sipper, U.S. Fulbright English Instructor in the Department of English Language and Literature.

The session will take place from 13:00 to 14:30 at Neftchilar Campus, Khazar University, and will focus on innovative approaches to teaching English, particularly for Generation Z learners.

Key topics of the professional development program include classroom management and student engagement strategies, constructing efficient and effective AI prompts for educational use, improving accent and diction to sound more like a native speaker, and the use of gamification, debates, and case studies to enhance students’ language acquisition.

The event is designed to support educators in adapting to contemporary teaching challenges and integrating modern tools and methodologies into their classrooms.
