Khazar University is pleased to announce the International Scientific Conference titled “500 Years of the Mughal Empire: History and Cultural Heritage”, to be held on 26–27 November 2026.
This conference is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the establishment of the Turko-Islamic Mughal Empire (also known as the Great Mughal Empire) and aims to provide a comprehensive scholarly platform for the discussion of its political, social, economic, and cultural legacy. The event seeks to bring together academics, researchers, and specialists from around the world and contribute to the development of new scholarly approaches and interdisciplinary studies in this field.
Within the framework of the conference, key topics will include the administrative structures of the Mughal Empire, fiscal and economic systems, military and strategic development, cultural and architectural heritage, religious and social relations, as well as its role in global history. In addition, special attention will be given to new methodological approaches, digital humanities, and comparative imperial studies.
The main objective of the conference is to reassess existing historiographical perspectives on the Mughal Empire, foster new academic discourses, and strengthen international scholarly collaboration.
