Those who wish to submit documents for doctoral and dissertation programs should enter the portal.edu.az website of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, select the service "Registration of students at higher and secondary educational institutions" and register in accordance with the instructions.
Sending applications through Portal.edu.az will be possible from April 12 of this year.
The deadline for submission of documents is May 16, 2023.
Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have completed the master level of higher education (defending a master's thesis) or have an education equal to it (doctor-specialist in medical education) can apply for the doctorate course on the Doctor of Philosophy program.
Those wishing to be admitted to a doctoral program in the PhD program must take entrance examinations in a foreign language (except for Russian, the choice should be free or compatible with the specialty), philosophy and specialty in the amount of valid curricula for master's degree. Those who do not participate in the foreign language exam are not admitted to the philosophy exam, and those who do not participate in the philosophy exam are not admitted to the specialty subject exam.
The right to receive the scientific degree "Doctor of Philosophy" by means of a dissertation program is granted to those who have completed the master's level of higher education (defending a master's thesis) or equivalent education (doctor-specialist in medical education), who have certain achievements in the relevant research field and whose main place of work is a higher education institution, scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of scientific institutions and organizations can apply. As a rule, persons who want to be a dissertation student must have at least two years of scientific or scientific-pedagogical work experience.
Those who wish to receive the scientific degree "Doctor of Philosophy" through a dissertation program must pass the foreign language exam held in June by the State Examination Center in the scope of the valid curricula for the master's level of higher education. Those who pass the foreign language exam are admitted to the interview held in September.
