International Youth Symposium will be held in Ganja city

Khazar University, together with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, plans to organize an International Youth Symposium in Ganja State University on July 26, 2019 in Ganja city.

“The Second International Let the Forgotten Words be Kept Alive/ Following Dada Gorgud's Trail / Words” Project, which is the continuation of the “First International Let the Forgotten Words Be Found by Life / Dīwāni Lughāt at-Turk (Compendium of the languages of the Turks)” Project is Funded by the Promotion Commission of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, dated 21/03/2019 #248137. The Project will continue during the period 01.03.2019-15.10.2020 under the coordination of Ankara / Çankaya District Education Directorate. During this period, the participants of the project will visit the cities of the Republic of Turkey, Ankara, Bayburt, Trabzon; cities of the Republic of Georgia, Batumi, Tbilisi; the cities of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Gazakh, Tovuz, Ganja; Ardabil, the cities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ardabil, Gorgan, Kumbetkavus, Tabriz, Khoy; the cities of the Republic of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Mari (Marv); the cities of the Republic of Ozbekistan, Bukhara Navai, Samarkand, Tashkent; the cities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Turkestan, Chimkent, Almaty; the cities of Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek, Cholpan Ata, Karakol and Osh.

Highly reputable science hotbeds such as Khazar University (Azerbaijan), Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Bayburt Municipality (Turkey), Turkmenistan Academy of Sciences, Manas University (Kyrgyzstan), Ahmet Yesevi University (Kazakhstan), Institute of Language and Literature of Uzbek National Academy of Sciences, rendering support to this Project. More than 40 scholars, researchers and students from eight countries will attend the Symposium / workshop. The goal of the Project is to acquaint the younger generation with the cities, rivers, mountains etc., mentioned in Dada Gorgud’s sagas, and to encourage them to obtain new research and findings in these regions, to promote the Dede Gorgud saga and Oguznames in the mentioned regions. Young people will be scrutinizing the saga text under the supervision of professional experts and will also collect folklore samples from the regions. The novelty of the Project is that the participants will learn comparisons of the different readings of the published texts of the saga up to this day. The experience gained from our Project will be the beginning of further research.

The Project is mainly aimed at introducing young people to the Turkic world memorial Dede Gorgud, instilling feelings of patriotism, nationalism and also teach statehood chronicle of our national history. Khazar University will also render its support to this event, being held in the direction of educating and enlightening youth of the Turkic world. The symposium / workshop will be held on 26.07.2019. We will be delighted to welcome everyone interested to join this event as an audience.
