Webinar on “World Englishes and Oral Communication, Perceptions of Multilingual Speakers in the U.S. Midwest” to Be Held

The Department of English Language and Literature will hold a webinar titled “World Englishes and Oral Communication, Perceptions of Multilingual Speakers in the U.S. Midwest” on May 1, 2026, at 18:40.

The session will be delivered by Nasiba Norova, Assistant Professor in the Department of Writing, Literature, and Language at Metropolitan State University, Saint Paul–Minneapolis. In this webinar, the speaker will examine how multilingual speakers are perceived in oral communication, with a particular focus on the U.S. Midwest, while also addressing broader issues related to World Englishes.

The event will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams, providing participants with the opportunity to join remotely.
