Department Head Responds to Trend's Inquiry

On April 11, 2020, Trend News Agency published the answer of Rovshan Abbasov, Head of the Department of Geography and Environment at Khazar University and the member of the Public Council at AZERSU OJSC to the inquiry "Why is the Caspian Sea declining?"

Rovshan Abbasov linked the decrease in water in the Caspian Sea with the reduction of rivers flowing into the sea and the consequences of global warming, noting that “the water level in the Caspian Sea will increase towards summer, as snow melts in river basins. This creates abundance in the rivers."
