The Khazar University Basketball Club is one of the university’s active student sports teams, proudly representing Khazar University in both national and international competitions. The club promotes teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and university spirit, while giving students the opportunity to compete at a high level.

Representing Azerbaijan Internationally

In November 2023, Khazar University’s basketball team represented Azerbaijan at the International Interuniversity Basketball Tournament held in Lefkosia on November 13-16, 2023, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Success in the Azerbaijan University Championship

The club has also demonstrated strong performance in domestic competitions. On April 4, 2024, Khazar University’s basketball team played against the Ganja University of Technology in the Azerbaijan championship among university teams and achieved an impressive 104-50 victory.

This result highlighted the team’s competitive strength and determination throughout the championship.

5th Place in the Inter-University Youth Basketball League

Khazar University’s basketball team also took part in the Youth Basketball League organized by the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation among the country’s universities.

On May 9, 2024, in the final round of the competition, the team defeated Baku Engineers University with a score of 75-30. With this victory, Khazar University secured 5th place among 11 teams, finishing the competition with 36 points.
