On April 24, 2019, at 10:00, Milana Abbasova (PhD candidate), Teacher of English Language and Literature Department and Valida Karimova (PhD candidate), Vice-dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences will conduct a seminar on “Ambiguity and abbreviations that violate language norms in social networks” organized by the Foreign Languages Department at Azerbaijan University. The seminar will also feature graduate students from Khazar University, majoring in linguistics.
During the seminar the following issues will be discussed: ambiguity and disruption of language norms arising from the use of abbreviations, acronyms, numeronyms, and pictograms on social networks.
