The period of full-time PhD education is 3 years. Dissertation programs are 4 years.  

Requirements for a PhD degree:

1. Citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic with higher education (with MA education or equivalent) are eligible to be accepted to the announced PhD vacancies on the basis of competition.

2. Any candidate who previously graduated from a complete PhD course (former post-graduate) is not eligible for readmission to PhD studies in the same field of study.

Documents required for PhD admission:

- application (to the head of the institution or organization where a PhD vacancy is announced);

- applicant’s individual registration sheet;

- biodata;

- 2 photos (3x4 cm);

- reference from workplace;

- extract from employment record book for those with work experience;

- list of published scientific works or abstract of research paper (referat) on the further field of research;

- notarized copy of university diploma in an appropriate form (for citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic who have completed higher education abroad, a certificate of recognition is required);

- copy of personal identity card.

The acceptance of documents is to be carried out from September 10, 2016 to October 15, 2016 and the exam interviews are held from October 21, 2016 to October 30, 2016 by the admission commission organized at the university. Documents should be submitted in person to Khazar University Division of Graduate Studies and Research (Room 412).
