1. The Director of the ETAI Center, Dr. Gloria Shkurti Özdemir, presented her research at the Turkish Conference on Social Sciences (TCSS 2026), held in April 2026 at Koç University, Istanbul. Her paper, titled "Escalation Bias in LLMs: Prompt Framing, Language, and Model Effects in Foreign Policy Decision-Making," presented findings from a factorial study examining four leading LLMs, GPT-4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Llama 3.1 70B, and DeepSeek-V3, across English and Turkish languages and three geopolitical framing conditions. The study revealed systematic disparities in response depth and framing across languages, with Turkish-language queries consistently producing shallower outputs. This research contributes to ETAI Center's ongoing work on algorithmic bias, AI governance, and the geopolitical implications of large-scale language models.

2. Dr. Dolapo Fakuade,  member at the ETAI Center, participated in the Everything AI international event, organised by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in collaboration with the European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance (EELISA). The event took place on 13-14 May 2026 at the UN House in Brussels, Belgium, and online. Bringing together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners, Everything AI offers a multidisciplinary platform to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence across governance, law, ethics, and society. The event focuses on translating AI governance principles into practical, real-world applications, addressing challenges such as accountability, risk management, democratic resilience, and institutional implementation.

3. The Director of the ETAI Center, Dr. Gloria Shkurti Özdemir, and ETAI Center members Dr. Fatih Sinan Esen and Ebru Karayel Çınar participated in the Milli Teknoloji Zirvesi: Yapay Zeka Paneli (National Technology Summit: Artificial Intelligence Panel), held on April 20, 2026, at the Akdeniz Kültür Merkezi, Mersin University. The panel brought together leading voices from academia, research, and industry to discuss the latest developments and future directions of artificial intelligence in Türkiye.  

4. The Director of the ETAI Center, Dr. Gloria Shkurti Özdemir, participated as a speaker in the Milli Teknoloji Zirvesi: Yapay Zeka Paneli, organized in collaboration with Yıldız Technical University and the Türkiye Teknoloji Takımı. The panel was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mert Bal (Yıldız Technical University) and featured Dr. Tolga Ahmet Kalaycı (Head, Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing Department, Trendyol Data Science) alongside Dr. Gloria Shkurti Özdemir. The discussion explored the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, its applications across sectors, and its broader implications for Turkey's technological development.

5. The Director of the ETAI Center, Dr. Gloria Shkurti Özdemir, participated as a panelist in the high-level forum titled "AI, Digitalization, and Higher Education: Perspectives from Policymakers, Universities, and Industry", held on February 6, 2026, at Dunya IB School, Baku, Azerbaijan. Organized by Khazar University, the event brought together senior representatives from government, academia, and industry to examine the intersection of AI and higher education policy. The panel featured Kamran Agayev (Director, Data Management Department, Innovation and Digital Development Agency), Nargiz Hajiyeva (Country Director, British Council Azerbaijan), Laman Ibrahimova (Head, ASAN AI Hub), Aziza Vidadi (Head, Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution), and Aygul Bayramova (Head, Data Science and AI Department, Unibank), with the keynote delivered by Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli (Chairman, Board of Directors and Trustees, Khazar University) and moderated by Dr. Razia Isaeva (Rector, Khazar University).

6. ETAI Center as Partner of the 3rd UNITAR International Research Conference

The ETAI Center is proud to have served as an official partner of the Third UNITAR International Research Conference (3UIRC), held on 3–4 December 2025 at the UN House in Brussels. This global gathering brought together leading institutions, scholars, and practitioners to explore innovative research at the intersection of peace, technology, and sustainable development.

Our center was represented by Director Gloria Shkurti Özdemir, who participated in the conference dialogues and contributed to discussions on the role of emerging technologies in international affairs. This partnership marks an important step in strengthening ETAI Center’s international collaborations and visibility in global research networks.

7. The Director of the ETAI Center, Dr. Gloria Shkurti Özdemir, participated in the 9th Bosphorus International Conference on Cybersecurity, Cyberpolitics and Social Sciences held on October 23–26, 2025, in Ankara, Türkiye. She presented her article titled “Disinformation and Digital Elections,” contributing to the conference’s scholarly discussions on emerging challenges in the digital age.

8. The Director of the ETAI Center, Dr. Gloria Shkurti Özdemir, participated in the 2025 Dialogue on BRICS Special Economic Zones on 25 September 2025 at the Hangzhou International Expo Center in China. The high-level forum, held alongside the 4th Global Digital Trade Expo, brought together experts and decision-makers from the BRICS countries to explore new models of special economic zones and technological cooperation.

9. The Director of the ETAI Center, Dr. Gloria Shkurti Özdemir, participated in the 3rd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technologies and Aerospace Issues, held on July 8–9, 2025, at the National Aviation Academy, Azerbaijan. Her engagement contributed to the conference’s discussions on emerging AI applications and their intersection with aerospace technologies.
