Within the framework of Khazar University's 35th anniversary events, a meeting on the theme "Khazar: A Place Where Alumni, Students and the Future Meet" was held on March 19, 2026, in the Marble Hall of the university, with the participation of alumni.
Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, Founder of Khazar University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, delivered a speech, highlighting the significance of the day's meeting and noting that those who had once left the university as graduates have now returned as friends. Speaking about the history of the university's founding, the difficulties and challenges encountered along the way, Isakhanli emphasized that society itself had a need for such an educational institution — an English-language private university. Today, 35 years have passed since "Khazar" began its operations. Noting that the achievements gained are plain to see, Hamlet Isakhanli particularly stressed that this institution of higher education, established by government decree, has undergone tremendous development over the course of 35 years, that its graduates are sought after in many countries, and that teachers and students from numerous countries work and study at Khazar University. He underscored that the strength of our university also lies in its environment and in its family-like and friendly relations.
Following the screening of the documentary film "The Signature of Khazar," Khazar University Rector Dr. Razia Isaeva delivered a speech. She noted that these days one celebration follows another — the 35th anniversary, the Nowruz and Ramadan holidays, and the meeting with alumni. Dr. Isaeva spoke about the path of development the university has taken over the years and its current academic structure, particularly emphasizing that Khazar University is one of the four leading research universities in our country.
The alumni who took the floor noted that Khazar has played a significant role in their lives and expressed their gratitude to the university administration for organizing such a meeting.
