As part of Khazar University's 35th anniversary celebrations, a poetry and music evening titled "Where Are We in Life's Journey" was held on February 25, 2026, jointly organized by the Departments of Languages and Literatures, and Music and Fine Arts.
The event was dedicated to the artistic work of Khazar University's founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli.
The evening's host, Dr. Aygul Gurbanova, a lecturer at the Department of Languages and Literatures, opened the floor to Rector Dr. Razia Isaeva. Raziya Isayeva emphasized the significance of such gatherings for the Khazar community to come together, share sincere and heartfelt moments, and enjoy poetry, music, and song.
Performed by Khazar University's Chamber Orchestra, songs set to Hamlet Isakhanli's poems — including "The Caravan Passes," "The Ways of Fate," and "The Mountains Are in Distress" — were presented. Members of the Department of Languages and Literatures recited the author's poems "Time," "I Used to Say...," "Either You or No One," and "Flowery Meadow."
Dr. Milana Abbasova, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, performed the folk song "I Have Sprinkled Water on the Streets."
Firangiz Nasirova, a lecturer at the Department of English Language and Literature, delivered excerpts from her translations of Isakhanli's poems originally written in English and Russian.
At the end of the event, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli expressed his gratitude to the organizers.
