On February 28, 2025, an event dedicated to "World Civil Defense Day" (March 1) was organized by the Department of Life Sciences at Khazar University. The university's faculty members and students participated in the event.
Opening the event, Aslan Rzayev, instructor at the Department of Life Sciences, spoke about the importance of civil defense and public preparedness for emergency situations. Muhammad Aghazadeh, a student from the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, provided comprehensive information about the history of the International Civil Defense Organization and Azerbaijan's role in this institution.
Gulafat Shafiyeva, an instructor from the department, addressed crucial aspects in her presentation on "Dangers, Fear, and Human Psychology During Emergency Situations."
The practical portion of the event featured demonstrations of first aid and rescue operations. Shahana Ibrahimova, instructor at the Department of Life Sciences, explained the procedures for artificial respiration and closed cardiac massage, while Aydan Nasirli, a student from the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, elucidated first aid techniques for carbon monoxide poisoning.
In conclusion, Mais Talishkhanov, instructor at the Department of Life Sciences, and Alovsat Amirbayli, Director of Media and Public Relations at Khazar University, emphasized the significance of ensuring public safety and protecting the population during natural and man-made emergencies. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session with students.
