On November 20, 2024, a scientific seminar was held at the "Avey" State Historical and Cultural Reserve (Gazakh district) on the results of the research conducted by the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology's "Gazakh Paleolithic Archaeological Expedition" in July 2024 in the Reserve's territory.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Saadat Aliyeva, director of the Reserve and its staff, Dr. Yagub Mammadov, senior researcher at the institute and lecturer at Khazar University's Department of History and Archaeology, Associate Professor Mansur Mansurov
The expedition's leader, Dr. Yagub Mammadov, delivered a comprehensive report on the research results, followed by a discussion addressing participants' questions.
It is worth noting that the Damjili Cave and Dashsalahli Cave, where the foundations of Paleolithic period studies were laid in Azerbaijan by M.M. Huseynov in 1953, are located on Avey Mountain. Further research in this direction is planned.
