The chapter titled 'Suicidal Behavior in Azerbaijan,' authored jointly by Ulkar Isayeva, a faculty member in the Psychology Department at Khazar University, and Prof.Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, the university's founder and chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, professor at the Mathematics Department, has been published in the book 'Suicidal Behavior in Muslim Majority Countries' by Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In their chapter, the researchers extensively discuss the phenomenon of suicide within unique geographical, socio-cultural, and historical context of Azerbaijan. They discuss the various risk factors contributing to suicidal behavior in Azerbaijan and present a thorough analysis of the current challenges hindering effective suicide prevention efforts. Despite the relatively lower prevalence of suicide in Azerbaijan compared to similar nations, the authors emphasize the importance of exploring the underlying risk factors to better understand and address this crucial issue.
