On May 7, 2024, a meeting was held with the delegation of the Pakistan National University of Sciences and Technology operating in Islamabad at Khazar University. Among the guests at the meeting were Pro-Rector for Research, Innovation & Commercialisation Dr. Rizwan Riaz, Innovation and Commercialization Office (ICON) Director Sana Maqbool,  Manager Corporate Relations Fawad Kashan, Technology Transfer  Manager Ambreen Munir, Khazar University Rector Assoc. Prof.  Irada Khalilova, Economics and Management School Dean Jeyhun Mammadov, Dean of the School of  Science and Engineering Fakhranda Efendiyeva, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology Gunel Bahaddinova, lecturer of the School of Science and Engineering Hafiz Mohammad Azeem Akram .

The meeting aimed to enhance academic cooperation between the universities and as part of this strategic partnership, NUST proposed the establishment of joint research laboratories for interdisciplinary exploration and innovation. In response to this, Khazar University deemed it suitable to hold joint conferences to facilitate the exchange of scientific ideas and cultivate a lively intellectual community. At the end of the meeting, both institutions agreed to start the process of drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
