Department of Languages and Literatures Lecturer Yegzar Jafarli Successfully Defends Phd Dissertation

On April 18, 2024, Yegzar Jafarli, a lecturer of the Department of Languages and Literatures, defended his dissertation entitled "Reality in Dan Brown's Fictional Texts and Its Postmodernist Structure (Based on the Novels Da Vinci Code, Hell, Angels and Demons)" at Azerbaijan University of Languages.

The applicant's relevant documents were submitted to the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, specializing in 5718.01 World Literature (English literature).

The dissertation explores the themes of reality and its postmodern structure in the novels of contemporary American writer Dan Brown, categorizing them into social, alternative, and postmodern realities, and introducing a conceptual framework termed "Dan Brown's artistic triangle".

6 articles and 8 conference materials were published on the applicant's scientific work.
