On March 13, 2024, Dr. Orkhan Valiyev, the head of the Department of Political Sciences and Philosophy, delivered an online lecture on the monograph "Azerbaijani Nationalism." This monograph, which had its second edition republished in Türkiye at the end of 2023, was presented at the invitation of Prof. Yashar Sarin, the head of the Heydar Aliyev Center for Eurasian Studies at Ibn Khaldun University in Istanbul.

It is noteworthy that Orkhan Valiyev's book originated from a dissertation focusing on the "Nationalization Process of Tsarist Period Azerbaijan: 1850-1920," examining Azerbaijan's nation and state-building efforts during the Tsarist era.

In addition to discussing Azerbaijan's journey of nationalization and statehood, the department head underscored that the victory achieved in 2020 marked a crucial milestone in the nation's identity formation and state-building process. The lecture concluded with a session of questions and answers.
