The “Theoretical Physics Scientific Research Center” has been launched by the Department of Physics and Electronics at Khazar University.
Assoc. Prof. Sahin Mamedov, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, was appointed the director of the center. Sahin Mamedov is a leading researcher at the Department of Theoretical Physics of the Institute of Physics Problems of Baku State University.
The center comprises three departments: High Energy Physics, Gravitation and Cosmology, and Condensed Matter Physics. Within the High Energy Physics department, research focuses on exploring hadron interactions using holographic quantum chromodynamics models. The Gravitation and Cosmology Division is dedicated to theoretical investigations into the fundamental principles governing the universe. In the Condensed Matter Physics section, the center delves into condensed state theory, focusing on areas such as quantum transport in low-dimensional structures, low-dimensional quantum materials, quantum graphs and networks, quantum technologies, and modeling of charge dynamics in conducting polymers. Initially, the center comprises 14 individuals, including 3 doctors of sciences and professors, 4 doctors of philosophy, and 7 doctoral students. These members engage in physics-related scientific activities across various institutions in countries like Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Russia, Uzbekistan, Iran, Korea, and Brazil.
