The first study visit was held at the İzmir Institute of Technology on November 15-17, 2023 within the framework of the Erasmus+ project called Development of Research Potential through the Network of Institutional Repositories in Azerbaijan (DIRNA), which is coordinated by Khazar University. Along with Khazar University, 7 partner universities of Azerbaijan (Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Academy of Azerbaijan State Customs Committee, Ganja State University, Nakhchivan State University, Lankaran State University, Mingachevir State University) participated in the study visit. Khazar University was represented at the event by Tatyana Zaytseva, the director of the Library Information Center, Aytac Misgarli, the deputy director, and Jamila Guliyeva, the collection manager.
The purpose of the training was to take advantage of Türkiye's experience to provide access to qualitative research studies conducted in Azerbaijani higher education institutions. During the study visit, presentations on GCRIS Technical Infrastructure, Overview of Open Science, Development of Open Science in Türkiye, Development of Institutional Archives in Türkiye and İzmir Institute of Technology were organized by the library of İzmir Institute of Technology.
Within the framework of the visit, representatives of Azerbaijani universities met with Prof. Yusuf Baran, the rector of İzmir Institute of Technology. During the meeting, discussions were held on the cooperation of higher education institutions between the two brotherly countries.
