On February 14, 2023, an event dedicated to Lieutenant Murad Nagiyev, a martyr of the Second Karabakh War, was held at the downtown campus of Khazar University. The event was organized by the Department of History and Archeology of Khazar University in cooperation with the Department of Languages and Literatures.

The martyr’s mother Khavar Mahammadi, his brothers Orkhan and Sarkhan Nagiyev, many other martyrs’ mothers, teachers and social activists were the guests of the event.

The event, which Khazar University students showed great interest in, began with silence in memory of the victims of the earthquake in Türkiye, and then the National Anthem was played.

Poems of him and songs dedicated to the martyr Murad Nagiyev were played, and the video and film about the martyr was shown.

Rector of the university Irada Khalilova, brother of the martyr Orkhan Nagiyev, the lecturer of the Department of History and Archeology, Ph.D.in history Rukhsara Guliyeva, Rukhsara Alizade, who was the teacher of the martyr, senior lieutenant Seymur Atilla, who wrote the poem “14 steps to infinity” about the martyr, and others spoke. In the speeches, the heroism of the martyrs who died for the victorious end of the 44-day Patriotic War and the great importance of their example in the patriotism education of the young generation were discussed.
