On January 27-28, 2023, Telman Nusratoghlu, head of History and Archeology Department, commented extensively on the heinous terrorist attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran and the causes of the tension in Azerbaijan-Iran relations in his speeches on TRT Haber, CNN Türk, BBN Türk, and TV Net televisions of Türkiye.

Telman Nusratoghlu said in his speeches that after the brilliant victory of Azerbaijan in the 44-day Karabakh war, the Armenian-oriented, anti-Azerbaijani line began to appear in Iran's South Caucasus policy, that this policy contradicts Iran's own demographic situation, and that official Tehran does not agree with the opening of the Zangezur Corridor. He pointed out that it is impossible to maintain neighborly relations with this policy.
