On December 27, 2022, pre-defence of the dissertation work submitted by Jamila Agamaliyeva, PhD student of the Department of English Language and Literature of Khazar University to receive a Ph.D. degree in philology in the specialty of Comparative-historical and comparative-typological linguistics - 5714.01, was held.

The pre-defence was chaired by Milana Abbasova, Ph.D. in Philology, acting head of the Department of English Language and Literature. The supervisor of the PhD candidate is Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Nariman Seyidaliyev, Senior Researcher of the Department of Applied Linguistics of the Nasimi Institute of Linguistics of ANAS, and Doctor of Philology Shafagat Mahmudova, Associate Professor of the Department of English Grammar of AUL.

In addition to Khazar University employees, linguists from Azerbaijan University of Languages, Baku Slavic University, Nasimi Institute of Linguistics of ANAS took part in the discussions.

At the end of the pre-defence, the PhD candidate received the positive opinion of the participants of the meeting and was allowed to the next stage of the defense.
