Distinguished Chairman,

In March of this year, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the People's Artist of Azerbaijan and the USSR, laureate of State awards Fikret Amirov at the state level.

According to this decree, a series of events in our country and abroad have been held since the beginning of this year in celebration of the jubilee.

In connection with the 100th anniversary of my father, the event held on December 19 at the Fikret Amirov Conference-Concert Center of Khazar University with the participation of cultural figures and intellectuals of the country is of great importance.

In the lobby of the campus, a wide exhibition about the composer's life and activities was shown under the leadership of the director of the University's Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts, well-known carpet artist Afag Karimova. Also, the bust of sculptor Aliagha Mailov "Fikrat Amirov" was exhibited at the event.

You opened the event and gave detailed information about the main stages of the composer's creativity in your wide and comprehensive speech.

The event continued with a rich music program. The concert was conducted by Orkhan Gashimov under the direction of the Chamber Orchestra of the University, the artistic director of which is the head of the Department of Music and Art of the university, honored teacher, famous pianist Zulfiya Sadigova.

I extend my deepest gratitude to you and the university staff for hosting such a grand event to honor his unforgettable memory as part of the 100th jubilee events of my father Fikret Amirov.
