On December 19, 2022, a concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the genius composer Fikret Amirov was held at the Fikret Amirov Conference-Concert Center of Khazar University. In the lobby of the campus, a large exhibition about the composer's life and activities was displayed under the direction of the director of the University's Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts, well-known carpet artist Afag Karimova.

Khazar University administration and employees, cultural figures and intellectuals of the country participated in the event.

The event began with an introductory speech by professor, academician Hamlet Isakhanli, founder of Khazar University, chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees. In his speech, H. Isakhanli detailed the main stages of the talented composer's creative process and credited his extraordinary talent and dedication for gaining fame and recognition around the world. He also gave information on Afag Karimova's story-portrait batik embroidered on silk and a carpet called "Our Music World" (with portraits of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Gara Garayev and Fikret Amirov) displayed in the hall hosting event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the composer, as well as "Fikrat Amirov" bust of sculptor Aliagha Mailov.

The concert program began with the performance of Shahrizad's Day from the ballet "1001 Nights" under the direction of Orkhan Hashimov, the conductor of the University Chamber Orchestra, the artistic director of which is the head of university's Music and Art Department, honored teacher, well-known pianist Zulfiyya Sadighova. The concert was mainly performed by the Chamber Orchestra and pianist Zulfiyya Sadighova and conducted by Orkhan Hashimov.

After the orchestra performed the 4th part of the "Nizami" symphony and "Waltz" from the "Sevil" opera, the concert continued with the participation of prominent and famous musical figures and young performers of Azerbaijan.

Honored artist Saida Sharifaliyeva, Honored artist Agshin Abdullayev, 4th year student of Baku Music Academy Nazim Mahmudov, People's artist Gulnaz Ismayilova, 4th year student of Baku Music Academy Emin Ismayilov, People's artist Khuraman Gasimova, People's artist Alim Gasimov, Honored artist Nigar Malikova, 4th year student of Baku Music Academy Leyla Bakhishova, soloist of Opera and Ballet Theater Urfan Jafarov, Gulnaz Ismayilova, Emin Huseynov, Honored Artist Chinara Mutallibova, People's Artist Yegane Akhundova and People's Artist Fidan Gasimova performed the composer's works.
