On September 1, 2022, an online meeting was held between the staff members of the Life Sciences Department of Khazar University and the employees of the School of Veterinary Medicine of Qafqaz University located in Kars, Turkey. The meeting was attended by Khazar University Rector Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, Associate Professor Saida Sharifova, Dean of the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology, Deputy Dean Associate Professor Mahammad Eldarov, Director of the Department of Life Sciences Saltanat Aghayeva, Ph.D. in Biology, Ayaz Mammadov, Ph.D. in Biology, Coordinator of Veterinary Medicine, Javid Ojagi, associate professor of the department, Prof. Engin Kılıç, vice-rector of Qafqaz University, Prof. Dr. Mete Cihan, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Cihan Kachar, Deputy Dean, and International Relations coordinator Prof. Dr. Hacıali Necefoğlu.

In her speech, Rector Irada Khalilova mentioned the importance of conducting joint researches, implementation of projects and establishing cooperation between both universities in the direction of veterinary medicine, and for this, first of all, the importance of signing a memorandum on joint cooperation. Ayaz Mammadov pointed out the importance of establishing a veterinary clinic at Khazar University in order to further increase the quality of education in veterinary medicine, and emphasized the need for the experience of Qafqaz University in this direction.

The scholars of Qafqaz University highly appreciated mutual cooperation and mentioned that they would support the establishment of an animal hospital at Khazar University.

In the discussion, the faculty members of Qafqaz University reached a preliminary agreement on the issues of conducting classes for students studying veterinary medicine of Khazar University, having

high-achieving students study at Qafqaz University on the basis of a dual diploma, get internships, conduct joint research, implement projects etc.
