On October 7-9, 2021, within the framework of the 880th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani thinker Nizami Ganjavi and the 700th anniversary of the famous Italian poet Dante Alighieri, an online international scientific conference "Nizami and Dante: Common and Different Cultures" was held. The event was coordinated by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center in partnership with the Azerbaijan Comparative Literature Association, the Association of Italian Scholars (ADI), the Dante Group, the Italian Association for the Theory and Comparative History of Literature (COMPALIT) and the Italian Pen Club.

Along with scientific speeches, Italian and Azerbaijani music was performed at the conference, which is a manifestation of Azerbaijani cultural ties. Azerbaijani music was represented by the works of the great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli, as well as songs of modern period by Nailakhanim Isayeva (lyrics: Hamlet Isaxanli).
