On April 7-8, 2018, Azerbaijan V International Psychology Conference was held on the initiative of the Department of Psychology, Khazar University and Khazar Psychological Service Centre. Khazar University administration and staff members, national experts as well as American and Turkish experts took part in the conference. Before the conference, Khazar University Camera Orchestra performed a concert program.

Dr Hassan Niknafs, Rector of Khazar University, opened the conference and greeted the participants. The Rector mentioned that the conference, which is held every year, is of great importance in terms of gaining new knowledge and experience.

Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, delivered a speech emphasizing traditional international events held at Khazar University and talked about the activity of Khazar Psychological Service Centre.

International experts delivered presentations on the following topics:

Prof. Nilufer Voltan Acar, TED University, - “Interactive consultancy model – methods of psychological consultancy in the Eastern countries”, Mehmet Hakan Turkchapar, Hasan Kalyoncu University, - “Scientific approach in psychotherapy, treatment for behavioral activity in depression”, Prof. Ebru Jengel Kultur, Hacettepe University, - “Criteria for assessment of mental health of children with preschool age, methods for early diagnosis of autism”, Doc.Dr.Ejder Akgun, Psychiatrist of Istanbul Cerrahpaşa Hospital, - “Psychodrama and its application through various methods”, Prof. Frederick Bemak, George Mason University, - “Psychological effects of refuge life and forced displacement”, Robert Jecklin, University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, - “Public health and psychology”. Moreover, the presenters and participants had discussions on the topics and experts demonstrated various examples of group psychotherapy.

Conference participants gained new knowledge and expanded their experience. At the end of the conference, guest professors and participants were presented with plaques and certificates, respectively. Conference participants also visited Heydar Aliyev’s, the nationwide leader, grave in the Alley of Honor and Martyrs Alley.

A reception was held in honour of conference participants.
