Information about a University student may not be released to a third party without the student's permission. Exceptions are Law Enforcement and Financial Aid Institutions. The policy allows the students to review their academic records and to challenge the contents of those records. Some information about the student is considered public or directory information, for example, name, enrollment dates and status, school and class, major, advisor, academic awards and honors received, and degrees earned. Students may prevent the release of public information by contacting the Registration and Records Office.
