On December 18, 2025, an attestation was conducted at Khazar University's Graduate School of Economics and Management to evaluate the annual academic activities of local and international doctoral and dissertation students.
During the attestation, each student delivered a brief presentation about their academic work. In their presentations, the students provided information about the research they conducted on their dissertation topics, the results they obtained, published articles and conference materials, as well as their upcoming plans and objectives.
The commission members made appropriate decisions based on the annual academic activities of the doctoral and dissertation students and provided useful recommendations to the students for more effective work in the following stages.
An educational meeting was organized on December 9, 2025, for first-year students studying in the "Tourism Organization" specialty, with the participation of Togrul Jafarov, Head of the Tourist Signage Work Sector at the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and professional mountaineer.
During the meeting, Togrul Jafarov shared his personal and professional development path with the students and provided detailed information about the main activities of the sector he leads. The event highlighted projects implemented in the country in the field of tourist signage, the presentation of hiking tourism trails on digital platforms, the preparation of trail markers, markers and information boards, as well as the main criteria considered when placing them across territories.
At the same time, extensive information was provided about the application of international experience within the framework of local capabilities, the objectives of developing hiking routes, already marked routes and future planned projects. The guest emphasized that tourist signage plays an important role in the development of sustainable tourism and increasing the tourism potential of regions.
The course instructor Konul Nuriyeva expressed her gratitude to the guest, noting that such practical and real experience-based meetings have a positive impact on students' future professional activities.
On December 9, 2025, a meeting was held for fourth-year students majoring in "Tourism Management" with Gulnura Suleymanova, a specialist from JoinAItrip company with many years of experience in the tourism sector. The meeting was organized by the Department of Economics and Management at Khazar University.
The meeting took place within the framework of the "Destination Management" course taught by Polad Orujov. The guest speaker delivered a presentation on "Hotel Management and Career Development in Hotels," providing students with detailed information about the hotel management field and professional development prospects in this area.
On December 2, 2025, students majoring in "Tourism Management" at Khazar University held a meeting with Ruslan Guliyev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Health and Thermal Tourism Support Association.
During the meeting, the guest provided students with extensive information about the nature and types of tourism, tourist categories, modern approaches to health tourism, trends emerging at the global and regional levels, as well as the health tourism potential of the liberated territories.
Ruslan Guliyev also spoke in detail about hotels offering thalassotherapy and spa therapy services, treatment with Naftalan oil, and the role of this sector in the country's tourism industry.
The event concluded with questions from students being answered and discussions.
An excursion to the Historic Zargarpalan Bath was organized on October 30, 2025, for students majoring in Tourism at Khazar University within the framework of the course "Cultural Heritage and Business Perspectives."
The main objective of the excursion was to promote students' academic, cultural, and personal development, as well as to strengthen their commitment to our history and national cultural heritage.
Students obtained detailed information about the history of Zargarpalan Bath, its architectural features, and its significance as tangible cultural heritage. During the excursion, conducted in lecture format, engaging discussions were held regarding the monument's preservation, restoration, and tourism potential.
Detailed information about the archaeological and restoration works carried out at the monument was provided by Dr. Fariz Khalili.
On October 30, 2025, a meeting was organized at Khazar University with Fagan Huseynov, Director of the Tourism Product Sector at the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau, within the framework of the "Introduction to Tourism" course for first-year students.
During the meeting, Fagan Huseynov provided comprehensive information about the work being carried out on the development of tourism products in various regions of the country and future development plans. He also spoke about the key factors to be considered in the process of creating and developing tourism products, market demands, and the essential conditions for establishing a successful tourism destination.
The event continued in the form of a discussion, and students' questions were answered.
On October 10, 2025, organized by the Department of Economics and Management, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani, PhD in Geography and Director General of the Geography Institute named after Academician H.A. Aliyev under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered a presentation on "Factors Influencing the Formation and Development of the Tourism Market."
Students studying "Tourism Management" and other specializations who participated in the event obtained detailed information about the characteristics of the tourism market in Azerbaijan and asked questions related to the topic at the end of the presentation.
On October 19, 2025, under the leadership of Polad Orujov, coordinator of the Economics and Management Department at Khazar University, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics and Management Mahammad Charkasov, department lecturer Murad Alili, and fourth-year undergraduate students majoring in Tourism and Hospitality Management conducted a field research excursion to Ismayilli District as part of the "Destination Management" course.
During the excursion, they visited two destinations in the district – Ashigbayrami Water Reservoir and village, as well as Ivanovka village. During the field research, students obtained information about destination management and organization in these areas, the infrastructure located in the territory, as well as their history, development, and current state.
At the end, students were assigned a group project aimed at analyzing potential development paths for the area based on the information gathered during the excursion.
