On April 20, 2022, Khazar University staff membersparticipated at a seminar on the project "Linking Dates and Archives for Migrant Agencies: Mixed Images for Europe and the Mediterranean Region" funded by the Horizon Europe Program. The seminar held at the Institute of Geography of ANAS was on "A new look at the problems of migration: before and after the COVID-19 pandemic". The event was attended by academic staff of other universities, scientists and specialists, representatives of organizations interested in migration, as well as an expert from the International Organization for Migration in Azerbaijan Yulia Ryzhikh. The event was moderated by Rovshan Karimov, the project coordinator and lecturer at Khazar University's Department of Geography and the Environment, who spoke about trends in international migration and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rovshan Abbasov, Head of the Department of Geography and Environment, Project Implementer, shared his views on rural-urban migration in the country and the impact of environmental factors in this process. Jeyhun Mammadov, Head of Khazar University's Department of Economics and Management and the Center for Migration Studies, presented the results of his research on the relationship between economic diversification and migration.
