On April 23-24, 2016, Azerbaijan’s III International Psychology Conference was held on the Neftchilar campus of Khazar University. It was organized by the university’s Psychology Department and Career Center. Participants included specialists and amateurs from various regions of the country. The conference was attractive to many participants because of the tightly interwoven practical and theoretical knowledge it offers.
On April 23, the conference’s official opening was held, including keynote lectures. On April 24, participants split up into workshops.
Melek Karimova, Assistant Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as Director of Khazar Psychological Services Center, opened the conference and gave the floor to Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees. Then expert psychiatrist Ikram Rustamov gave a speech. During the conference, lectures were presented by local and Turkish guest psychologists and psychiatrists who spoke about various areas of psychology. Speakers included Professor Tuncay Ergene of Hacettepe University; Professor Mehmet Eskin of Adnan Menderes University; Professor Ceylan Das, Founder of Gestalt Association; Associate Professor Selim Gunuc of Yuzuncu il University; and Associate Professor Ramin Aliyev of Hasan Kalyoncu University. Topics discussed during the conference included test anxiety, internet addiction, stages of psychological consultation, homosexuality, and invincibility. Participants had the opportunity to gain new knowledge in the field of psychology, learn from the experience of experts, see new perspectives, make comparisons, and network with students and instructors from various universities.
At the end of the conference, every participant was awarded a certificate.
