On April 18, 2016, a jubilee celebration was held in the R.Behbudov State Song Theater to mark the 70th birthday of Meritorious Man of Arts of the Azerbaijan Republic, Tahir Akbar. Prof. Hamlet Isaxanli, founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, was among the participants in the event. He made a speech about Tahir Akbar’s creative activity as well as ideas for partnership among poets, composers and singers.

As part of the concert program at the event, two songs were performed that were written with lyrics by Hamlet Isaxanli and set to music by Tahir Akbar: “Mənə ayrılan vaxt,” also known as “Rübailər” was performed by Azer Zeynalov, and “Məndən sənə yar olmaz” was performed by Gulyanaq Mammadova.
