The next lecture sessions in the course "History of the Ancient World I" for second-year students majoring in History Teaching, and in the course "Fundamentals of Archaeology and Ethnography" for first-year students majoring in History-Geography Teaching, both at Khazar University's Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, were held on October 1, 2026, at the Museum-Exhibition Hall of ANAS's Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology.
Organized by course instructor Orkhan Zamanov, the classes gave students the opportunity to become closely familiar with the various archaeological materials and examples of material culture displayed at the museum. Based on the exhibits, detailed information was provided on the way of life, daily routines, economic activity, tools, and cultural development of ancient peoples. At the same time, particular emphasis was placed on the scientific and source-study significance of archaeological materials for studying the history of the ancient world.
The discussions and visual observations carried out as part of the class gave students the opportunity to connect the theoretical knowledge they had gained in the classroom with concrete archaeological materials and exhibits, as well as to develop practical knowledge and skills for their future professional activity.
It should be noted that involving students studying history and history teaching at Khazar University in classes organized in museums and exhibition halls serves to complement their theoretical knowledge with practical observation, to become more closely acquainted with the sciences of history and archaeology, and to strengthen their professional training.
