Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev, Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy at Khazar University, gave a video interview to AZERTAC on September 17, 2026, regarding Gabala’s role as one of Azerbaijan’s tourism and cultural centres, as well as the city’s hosting of important meetings.

In the video interview, Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev noted that Gabala is one of the cities with an ancient history and is known as one of the country’s important tourism and cultural centres. He highlighted that the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States, held last year, as well as several receptions and meetings held by President Ilham Aliyev outside the capital, took place in Gabala. He stated that, in addition to being a tourism and cultural centre, Gabala has also successfully hosted important meetings.
