Dr. Orkhan Valiyev, Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy, participated in the Second International Conference of Leading National Analytical Centers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held in Baku on September 16, 2026. The conference, titled “Enhancing Economic Cooperation across the Organization of Turkic States through Continuous Consultations and Joint Research,” was organized by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The conference focused on strengthening economic cooperation among the member states of the Organization of Turkic States through continuous consultations, joint research, and coordinated policy action. Key areas of discussion included trade and investment, transport and logistics, energy cooperation, digital transformation, innovation, food security, sustainable development, and institutional coordination.
The opening ceremony featured Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration; Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States; Musa Gasimli, Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication; and Kurshad Zorlu, Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye and Vice Chairman of the Justice and Development Party responsible for relations with the Turkic States.
The discussions addressed a wide range of issues, including deeper economic integration across the Turkic world, the strategic role of the Middle Corridor, trade and investment cooperation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, innovation ecosystems, human capital development, and institutional cooperation.
Bringing together policymakers, academics, representatives of analytical centers, international organizations, financial institutions, and the business community, the conference provided a platform for exchanging expertise and discussing future directions for economic cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States.
