On August 22, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev, Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy, was a guest on the “Gundam” program hosted by Chinara Nurmammadova on ARB24 TV.
During the program, Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev analyzed current political developments in the South Caucasus and the wider region. He discussed the regional and political significance of the transportation of wheat and propane from Russia to Armenia in transit through Azerbaijani territory, as well as the political risks that the continued freedom of revanchist forces may pose to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Assoc. Prof. Valiyev also commented on the replacement of Armenia’s ambassador to Russia amid ongoing political tensions in Yerevan–Moscow relations, the current level of development of Russia–Azerbaijan relations, and the dynamics of Azerbaijan–Türkiye relations. He further assessed the potential impact of tensions between Russia and Türkiye on political processes in the South Caucasus, as well as the implications of growing tensions in Türkiye–Israel relations for the region’s geopolitical landscape.
