On July 17, 2026, an international online scientific seminar titled "Protection of Cultural Heritage and Archaeology: Scientific Research, International Cooperation, and Future Perspectives" was held, jointly organized by the "Keshikchidagh" State Historical-Cultural Reserve — under the management of the State Service for the Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture — the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, and the "Khan Ordaly Saraishyk" State Historical-Cultural Museum-Reserve of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main goal of the seminar, moderated by Yunis Nasibli, Associate Professor and Candidate of Historical Sciences at Baku State University (BSU), was to discuss the protection of cultural heritage, the current state of archaeological research, the expansion of international scientific cooperation in this field, the sharing of advanced practices, and future directions for joint scientific activity. The event was attended by staff members of other reserves under the management of the State Service for the Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, master's students of Baku State University, as well as Dr. Yagub Mammadov, leading researcher at the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology and lecturer at the Department of History and Archaeology of Khazar University, and 25 students studying in the History Teaching specialty at the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (HESS).

The event was regarded as a crucial scientific platform for further developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in the fields of history, archaeology, and the protection of cultural heritage.

Opening the seminar with an introductory speech, Musa Mursagulieyv, Director of the "Keshikchidagh" State Historical-Cultural Reserve, spoke about the importance of international cooperation in protecting cultural heritage and increasing the effectiveness of scientific research, emphasizing the importance of joint scientific projects, archaeological expeditions, specialist training, and experience exchange in studying shared historical and cultural values.

Following this, presentations were delivered by: Abilseit Kapizuly Mukhtar, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, and Director of the "Khan Ordaly Saraishyk" State Historical-Cultural Museum-Reserve, on "The Research Activity of the Saraishyk Museum-Reserve and Its Role in the Protection, Preservation, and Promotion of Its Medieval Monuments"; Parviz Gasimov, PhD in History and Deputy Director for Digital Development and Artificial Intelligence at the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, on "The Keshikchidagh Kurgans"; Amangeldi Zhenisuly Zhumabayev, Deputy Director of the "Khan Ordaly Saraishyk" State Historical-Cultural Museum-Reserve, on "Archaeological Research in the Ashisai Golden Horde Settlement"; and researchers of the same reserve, Aibek Turaruly, on "The Main Stages of the Archaeological Study of the Medieval Settlement of Saraishyk," and Zhunis Rustemuly Baigaliyev, on "The Karakaily Archaeological Complex: Recent Research and New Data."

Within the framework of the seminar, participants exchanged views on modern approaches to the protection of cultural heritage, the digitization of archaeological heritage, the expansion of international scientific cooperation, the organization of joint expeditions, and the implementation of future scientific projects.
