As part of his visit to Türkiye, Telman Nusratoglu, Assoc. Prof. and Head of the Department of History and Archaeology, met on July 10, 2026, with General Bahtiyar Ersay Pasha, the first commander of the Turkish Armed Forces' Azerbaijan Task Force, which operated in Azerbaijan immediately after the 44-day Patriotic War, and who currently serves as Türkiye's First Army Commander.

During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Telman Nusratoglu presented General Bahtiyar Ersay Pasha with his book "Ottoman Prisoners on Nargin Island during the First World War and the Assistance of Azerbaijani Turks to the Prisoners," published by Khazar University Press.

Held in a warm atmosphere, the meeting featured a wide-ranging exchange of views on Azerbaijani-Turkish brotherhood, shared military history, as well as the past, present, and future of military cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
