The 30th International Dede Qorqut Symposium was held in Bayburt, Türkiye, from July 6 to 9, 2026, jointly organized by the Bayburt Governorship, Bayburt Municipality, and Bayburt University.
Assoc. Prof. Telman Nusratoglu, Head of the Department of History and Archaeology at Khazar University, participated in the symposium alongside university rectors, members of parliament, and scholars from across the Turkic world. Actively engaging in the scientific and cultural programs organized within the framework of the event, Assoc. Prof. Telman Nusratoglu delivered a comprehensive paper on the topic "The Role of Great Historical Figures in the Formation of the Spiritual, Political, and Historical Unity of the Turkic World."
The paper emphasized the significance of the Dede Qorqut heritage in uniting the Turkic peoples around a common history, culture, and spiritual values, while also analyzing, on the basis of historical evidence, the contributions of prominent historical figures to the strengthening of the political and spiritual solidarity of the Turkic world throughout history.
It should be noted that the International Dede Qorqut Symposium is regarded as one of the most prestigious scientific platforms for the study and promotion of the common history, language, culture, and spiritual heritage of the Turkic world.
