Khazar University's "Vortex Team" successfully represented the university at the "World Caspian Cup 2026" international robotics competition held on May 27-28, 2026, achieving a notable success.
The team included third-year students of the Electrical-Electronic Engineering program at the university's Department of Physics and Electronics — Tural Shaban, Vasif Ahmadov, Elshan Jabbarov, and Turan Mammadli — as well as third-year Mechanics Department student Humeyra Askarova.
Within the framework of the competition, the innovative robot project developed by the team was highly evaluated by the jury, and the team successfully secured a place in the final stage. For the creative engineering solutions demonstrated at the final stage and the robot's advanced technical design, the team was awarded the "World Caspian Cup 2026 Special Award for Best Robot Design."
This success once again demonstrates the high level of engineering education and the activity carried out in the fields of innovation and robotics at Khazar University.
