Faculty and students of the Department of Architecture and Design at Khazar paid a familiarization visit to Corian Baku on June 6, 2026.
The purpose of the visit was to acquaint students with Corian material — widely used in contemporary architecture and interior design — as well as its manufacturing technology, technical specifications, and application possibilities.
First- and second-year students of the Design and Architecture programs participated in the event. The visit was led by Nigar Aliyeva, Head of the Department of Architecture and Design, and instructor Fatma Atashkaya.
Representatives of Corian Baku provided students with detailed information on the aesthetic and functional properties of Corian material, its processing methods, and its application in various architecture and design projects. Students observed the production process firsthand, examined material samples, and gained practical knowledge of its capabilities.
As part of the visit, students were also introduced to contemporary kitchen products made from Corian material. A cooking demonstration on an induction surface presented by the company was conducted, and students were informed about the advantages this technology offers for everyday use.
During the meeting, Corian Baku extended an interesting proposal to the students. It was announced that students are welcome to develop their own creative design projects using Corian material, and that successful works may be evaluated and utilized by the company. This initiative serves to foster students' creative potential and strengthen industry–university collaboration.
Such familiarization visits not only enrich students' theoretical knowledge with practical experience, but also make a significant contribution to their professional orientation and future career.
