Gunay Hajiyeva, Deputy Dean for Research Affairs at the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology of Khazar University and Doctor of Philosophy in Astronomy, undertook a business trip to Manisa Celal Bayar University in Türkiye from June 1–5, 2026, within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme.
During the visit, Gunay Hajiyeva met with the Rector of Manisa Celal Bayar University, Professor Dr. Rana Kibar. The meeting featured extensive discussions on expanding academic cooperation between the two universities, developing faculty and student exchange programmes, implementing joint scientific projects, and future collaboration prospects.
Deputy Dean Hajiyeva delivered a presentation to faculty members and students, providing information on the history of Khazar University, its educational and research opportunities, international cooperation activities, and ongoing projects. She also shared with participants the findings of her research on the fundamental parameters and chemical composition of A- and F-type spectral class stars.
As part of the visit, meetings were also held with faculty members of the Physics Department, Associate Professor Dr. Fehmi Bardak and Dr. Funda Aksoy. The discussions covered future joint research opportunities in the field of astronomy and astrophysics, participation in international projects, and scientific collaboration prospects.
Accompanied by Dr. Cemile Bardak, Professor of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, a visit was also paid to the faculty's modern scientific research and teaching laboratories. Günay Hajiyeva familiarised herself with the research activities conducted in the laboratories, the state-of-the-art equipment used in the teaching process, and the practical training opportunities available to students.
The meetings and academic discussions proved highly productive in terms of further developing ties between the two universities, preparing joint research projects, and broadening international cooperation.
